Our Story

The name “EyeBagNation” was created and derived interestingly. My name is Tony Bolden, I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Throughout my adult life, I have fallen upon hard times, on more than one occasion, where I could not provide the financial means to sustain housing for myself. The most recent instance was last year when my wife and I disagreed on complex marital issues. We decided that it would be best to separate before issues worsened. I slept in my car for a week before I decided to go to a transitional homeless center. Along the way, I started hanging out with James Michael Shannon, a homeless guy who slept on the streets. After getting to know James, I was amazed to find out how he got by without employment and shelter. James has a more than average following on social media due to his long and consistent posting of messages. James started by sharing information about stuff he likes to do and what his interests were. He shared information about where he lived and his family situation. James came to South Carolina with his brother and mom, and then, due to some unfortunate circumstances, James and his family became homeless. Over time and after consistently posting videos about his situation, James developed quite a following on social media. That’s when James’s followers started periodically sending him money via Cash App. Many of James’s followers would troll him, get on him about getting a job, and ask his followers for money. It turns out James came up with a group name for these followers; he would call them “haternation” and subsequently one of his followers called him “Eyebagnation”. James was called eyebagnation because of the eyebags under his eyes that he developed over time from lack of sleep. When I first read that, I thought it was pretty funny.

After a while and being fascinated by James’s followers, I started posting on social media and sharing my situation. I wanted to see if I could get the same amount of followers and support James received. Then one day  I met a woman named Ms. Velma, she asked me, “Why don’t you start your own company”. She explained to me how easy it is, and I just asked myself If I did what kind of company would it be. What do I like to do? What would I call it? After some thought, it didn’t take me long to figure it out. Next thing I know Eyebagnation Consultants Foundation is what I came up with and as they say ladies and gentlemen, the rest is history.

Who we are

EyeBagNation Consultants Foundation, (ECF) is a non-profit organization designed to help people in need, although our priorities are aligned with the homeless community, as we grow as a company, we would love to expand our services to other populations. My name is Tony Bolden, I’m the CEO of ECF, I believe people should have faith in the God.

Matthew 35:25 of the bible reads “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.

There are a lot of people in need for a variety of different reasons. ECF understands that homelessness can be brought about through:

Mental Health Issues, anxiety, schizophrenia, PTSD, stress and depression

Substance Abuse, drug and alcohol addiction can create a barrier to maintaining employment, housing and relationships

Domestic Violence can lead to breakdowns in family structure, relationships

ECF is not here to judge any company, group, family or individual, whatever the reason, whatever the circumstances, if we are legally allowed to aid we would love to do so. Providing assistance to the community one event at a time, one individual at a time.
